I decided to start keeping a blog about our wedding as I wanted one day to share our experiences as we get ready to make this commitment to one another with our children. I would love to have had something similar from my mum as she got ready to marry my dad way back in 1975!
I'm also hoping that I can come back here if (and when!) I need to remind myself of my hopes and dreams for our wedding.
1. I want our wedding day to be fun, relaxed and focused on celebrating our love and commitment to one another in front of our closest friends and families
2. I want my whole approach to planning the wedding to be super low maintenance and relaxed. I want to enjoy the process and look back on it as the most fun I've had in a long time!
3. I don't want us to agonize over every single detail but to make decisions that feel right to us and to accept them once they are made. What's important is our marriage, our commitment in front of God, not the details of the day!
4. I want our engagement and our wedding to be about our love for each other and not about getting too caught up in what we're "supposed" to do
5. I want to make decisions that feel right for us and to stand at the alter on my wedding day and know that I am marrying my best friend, my partner in life, my biggest fan, the future father of my children and the man I'm supposed to be with for the rest of my life
